09 Aug Copper Shine On The Facade
Krúdy Residential Park is located in the inner city green belt of Szombathely, which is both modern and practical. The blueprint of the 39-apartment residential complex built in phase 1 featured an elegant facade, but, due to the large surface area, cost effectiveness was also important. The solution was the Copper New structure LiteStone ultra-thin mica slate cladding, which, due to its brilliant coppery gleam, makes a special impression on its setting.
The installation of the 2mm thick, 1.5-1.7 kg / m2 mica slate tiles took place fairly swiftly – contrary to what would have been expected in the case of conventional, thick, fitted stone veneer solutions. The 122 × 61 cm sheets were fitted to the insulated facade using the Mapei Keralastic-T two-component epoxy adhesive. Slate Design’s LiteStone stone veneer tiles have been treated with the Slate Design Nano Effect impregnating agent that is resistant to water and oily / greasy pollutants. This procedure protects the surface of the stone from contaminants arising from construction work, and later renders the facade’s cladding self-cleaning. By using LiteStone ultra-thin stone veneer tiles, the facade of the building has received an elegant glued stone veneer in a cost-effective and fairly swift manner, compared to traditional, thick, installed stone coverings.
